Reece Carpenter: Co-President
Hi! I am Reece. I will be going into my fourth year at Western Washington this fall, studying Energy Science & Technology along with German. I am originally from a small town outside of Portland, OR but moved to Bellingham for school. I got involved with Rotary through an exchange year to Austria in my junior year of HS; I have been passionate about the organization ever since!
I have 2 sisters and a dog who I love more than anything. I enjoy being active and working out in my free time and have a job at the rec center on campus. I am also one of the coordinators for the Women+ in Energy Mentoring Network club at Western. I am so excited to continue my journey with Rotary and Rotaract and look forward to the year ahead!
Emily Calhoun: Co-President
Hi I’m Emily! I graduated from Western Washington University in March of 2018 with a BA in Creative Writing and a minor in Professional Writing. I am currently a MBA student at Western. I got involved with Rotary in 2018 through RYLA, (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards).
From there, I attended a few meetings for Snohomish County Rotaract before becoming a permanent member for Bellingham Rotaract upon starting my Undergrad.
I am a huge people-pleaser, so helping others make me happy. In my free time, I enjoy writing stories, reading a good book, or being at the beach. I am so stoked to continue with Rotaract as co-president alongside Reece!
Zachary Connor
Hello! I am Zachary. I enjoy volunteering, adventuring and sustainability. I’m majoring in Business and Sustainability at Western Washington University and minoring in Honors and Geographic Information Science. I’m currently working on a community project I started to reduce Styrofoam use in the restaurant industry by mapping sustainability minded restaurants while providing resources for unsustainable restaurants. I’ve earned the Queens Venturer Award, and graduated at the top of my High School class with honors from Whatcom Community College. I am also the president of my Rover troop and a youth advisor for Venturer scouts at 10th White Rock Scouts and various GSWW (Girl Scouts of Western Washington) events.
Dakota White
Hi I’m Dakota! I live in Snohomish Washington and work at Boeing as an Industrial Engineer. I graduated from Western recently with a Bachelor’s in Business Operations and a minor in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. I was introduced to Rotary by my grandparents and became actively involved after attending RYLA in 2015. I was invited back to be a facilitator for the following three years. I am the past President of the Bellingham Rotaract Club and currently a member of both the Snohomish County and Bellingham Rotaract Clubs. If I’m not working or doing something involved with Rotary, I can be found on the golf course, playing basketball or shredding the slopes on Mt. Baker or Stevens pass.
